South Africa Travel

REST

Landing into South Africa was soo exciting. It wasn’t the destination as much, but the thrill of knowing I would see some of the most dearest people to me! My Twin sister, Dad and Step-Mum traveled all the way from Australia to spend 2 weeks with us in Kruger National Park and Cape Town. It was a nice break before heading to Nepal, where we would spend another 3 months helping some of our greatest friends with their non-for-profit. I have never been very good at resting. I struggle to sit still and always want to be doing something! But the importance of it has really made its self known in the last few months!

The time we had together was soo beautiful. James and I felt spoilt in so many ways and the love of our family was be the best gift anyone could give! We did struggle with a little bit of culture shock – coming back into a more modern culture, but really appreciated the hot showers!

Kruger was breathtaking! The animals and wildlife were plentiful and so spectacular! Mozambique didn’t have really any wildlife – I think most of it had been eaten because of the poverty and civil war!

When In Cape town we meet up with some of our dear friends from Harvest School, Jonathan and Wendy! Their city was picturesque. The view from Table Mountain and surrounding scenery was better than we could imagine!

Overall, the two weeks were like a dream. Exploring, laughing and being immersed in the South African culture was the best way to spend the last days of our trip in the continent. Having the break was the perfect opportunity to reflect on all the experiences in Mozambique. Needless to say, I have a feeling we will be coming back!

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
