It’s official.
In two days we are leaving Australia for Mozambique, starting our new position at Iris global on their Media Team.
We are so excited to joining the Pemba base, and can’t wait to be back in the African red dirt.
The last 4-5 months In Australia have gone really quickly. We have been able to spent time with family and friends, even celebrating James’ brothers wedding, before packing up and going again. We have been able to work hard, photographing many weddings and other creative shoots, all of which fund our volunteer work overseas.
Last month we were able to attend a conference with Heidi Baker, the founder of Iris Global, in Australia. This was held in Margret Court Arena in Melbourne, where the famous tennis player who the court was named after attended the conference and shared about her own personal journey with Jesus and how she became a Christian. I have included a few photos of this too, thousands of people attended and the night was so impacting.
I also have attached some photos of our time with friends and family. Our home church in Tasmania and some of our photography work while we have been Home.
Being back in our Home Church, Gateway, has been a huge blessing. We feel the support and encouragement from all our friends, to continue in the direction our hearts are leading. It makes a huge difference, especially when you are taking so many steps in faith.
“God’ s calling for your life is everything you never knew, you always wanted.” – this was a quote we heard last year in Pemba, and it about sums it all up. I never expected 5 years ago that we would be living in Africa. Never ever, ever. But now it’s the most perfect place for us and it feels so right. It is a life of adventure, trust and joy. With plenty of opportunities to be stretched and to grow.. but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We will do our best to keep you updated on what we are doing the next 6 months. We come back to Australia in October, for the wedding season and go again in March. Soon we will upload some of the Iris Global media videos, to show you all what we are actually getting up to!
