Our Family Video

THE USA & MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE

By on August 2, 2023

Our family’s journey of faith has entered a new chapter, and this time, our destination is the United States. After patiently waiting for our visas to be approved in Australia, we’ve now set up our base at Iris Global’s head office in Franklin, Tennessee.

This has been no ordinary journey; it’s been filled with transitions and challenges. In 2020, we were forced to leave Mozambique due to a horrific Civil war, leaving us unable to return due to ongoing security risks. But in the midst of uncertainty, we chose to place our trust in Jesus, finding peace despite the unknown.

Looking back, we’ve come to realise that not a single moment of our lives has been wasted. What initially seemed like roadblocks turned out to be beautiful detours leading us to the right destination to where we are meant to be.

Now in America, we’ve expanded our role beyond serving just one base. We’re honoured to be part of the global media department, where we’ve been involved in bringing film projects to life while sharing the incredible stories of love and compassion that Iris Global extends to those in need.

One particular project that excites us is the music video for “Mountain People Worship.” This song holds a special place in our hearts because it’s created by our dear friends Nicole and Able, whom we first met back in Mozambique in 2016. We were thrilled to bring their artistic vision to life through this music video.

Nicole and Able are not only talented musicians; they are also dedicated workers in a children’s home and rehabilitation centre, driven by a powerful vision of seeing Jesus restore broken families and reaching out to the marginalised and forgotten.

The music video tells a story of a man entangled in addiction and isolation, seemingly forgotten by the world. However, in the darkest of moments, he discovers a glimmer of hope in Jesus, reminding us all that divine encounters can happen even in the bleakest of circumstances. The video also features residents from the rehab worshipping alongside the community members.  Everyone expressing gratitude for God’s redemptive love and grace.

In addition to the music video, we’re excited to share that we’ll be releasing a mini-documentary series from Iris Global, featuring different bases from around the world.

This series aims to offer an intimate glimpse into the lives of missionaries on the ground and the impactful stories they encounter while living a life fully surrendered to Jesus.

We feel undeservingly spoiled to be here and are appreciating every day with our little ones.

To add to the adventure, we are also embarking on the homeschooling journey. This feels both exciting and stretching but overall it’s a great opportunity to create unique learning experiences for Grace and Isaiah. While most importantly, having fun as we build memories and rich foundations as a family.

Looking forward to sharing more with you soon, but in the mean time I leave you with some photos from the 4th of July and behind the scenes of the Music video.

Much love

Jessica
